perspectx goes extreme – ch47 engine

A continuation of my contribution for CH-47 Chinook Helicopter ‘Extreme’.

I started it with a polygon cylinder then extrude mesh for the main part of the engine. On the wirings, I used EP Curve tool in maya and Nurbs circle (Will probably make a simple blog tutorial for it). After creating more details, I did UV and texturing. Some of the small parts on the middle of the engine are textured.

BUILDING A HIGH QUALITY B-17 (PART 10)

The B-17 has an access tunnel that is located under the cockpit.  A forward hatch leads to the interior.  Once inside, going left will lead to the foreword compartment and right leads up to the cockpit.  The access tunnel is also used for storage and allows access to cables running down from the cockpit.  This room is only about three feet high making mobility difficult.

Building the model was interesting because there is a lot of stuff crammed into this space.  …

The cockpit for the CH-47D is finished and has been integrated into the main fuselage.  The entire cockpit model ran 420K faces.  A large number of 4096 bitmaps were used which included color, specular, and bump.  Below are screenshots of the finished cockpit.
