BUILDING A HIGH QUALITY B-17 (PART 9)

I decided to focus on the top turret with this blog.  This turret is so complex that I decided to separate it from the cockpit discussed in the last blog.

The top turret more than anything illustrates the importance of having good original source photos for reference.  Current air show aircraft have their top turrets gutted.  For this reason my original top turret had serious problems.  After I got hold of better sources I realized I needed to go back and do a serious redo of the turret.  Below are before and after images of my earlier turret and later turret.
